John Sweeney is elected to second term as President of the Downeast Chapter ALA

John Sweeney was recently elected to serve a second consecutive term as President of the Downeast Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators.  As the Firm Administrator at Libby O’Brien Kingsley & Champion, John oversees the non-legal business functions of the firm, including finance, human resources, technology, day-to-day operations, and other general business management. The Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) is a professional association connecting leaders and managers within the legal industry.  The Downeast Chapter of the ALA offers professional development, education, and networking opportunities to legal administrators in the State of Maine.

John has worked in the legal profession since 1982, starting in Washington, D.C. before moving to Maine in 1988. During that time, he has held various positions including litigation paralegal, firm administrator, and technology manager.  He joined Libby O’Brien Kingsley & Champion in November 2012.  John has been a member of the ALA and the Downeast Chapter since 2003.  This is John’s third term as President of the Downeast ALA, having previously served in various positions on the board from 2008 to 2011 and as President in 2010-2011.
