John Sweeney is elected President of the Downeast Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators

Libby O’Brien Kingsley & Champion, LLC is proud to announce that its Firm Administrator, John Sweeney, has been elected to serve as President of the Downeast Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators for a one-year term beginning April 1, 2020.

Legal Administrators are responsible for the non-legal business functions of law firms and law-related organizations, including finance, human resources, organizational, operations, and general business management. The Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) is a professional association connecting leaders and managers within the legal industry.  The Downeast Chapter of the ALA offers professional development, education, and networking opportunities to Legal Administrators in the State of Maine.

John has worked in the legal profession since 1982 in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Maine. During that time, he has held various positions including litigation paralegal, principal firm administrator, and technology manager.  He joined Libby O’Brien Kingsley & Champion, LLC in November 2012.  John has been a member of the ALA and the Downeast Chapter since 2003.  This is his second time as President of the Downeast ALA, having previously served in various positions on the board from 2008 to 2011.
