Tyler Smith has been appointed by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court to chair the Advisory Committee on the Maine Rules of Appellate Procedure, filling a vacancy due to the nomination of Joshua Dunlap to the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Tyler began serving on the Committee as a member in 2024.
The Committee is comprised of 11 attorneys, and is tasked with reviewing the Maine Rules of Appellate Procedure, making recommendations to the Supreme Judicial Court regarding rule amendments, and drafting new or amended appellate rules in order to clarify existing rules or to address new legal issues.
