Mr. Champion is a civil trial attorney. His practice includes the litigation, negotiation, and resolution of problems and cases in employment law, contract and business disputes, family law, and personal injury, including elder abuse matters. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, and the Maine Bar Association and he is a Fellow of the Maine Bar Foundation.
Mr. Champion has 20+ years of litigation experience, and has tried and argued cases before state and federal trial courts, state Supreme Courts, and the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also appeared by Writ of Certiorari before the United States Supreme Court. In addition, he is involved in numerous pro bono activities and is a prolific writer and speaker on litigation issues.
Relevant Experience:
- Has tried cases to verdict for one of the nation’s largest defense contractors involving complex contract litigation.
- Served as trial counsel for national Fortune 500 companies.
- Litigation counsel to one of the world’s largest hospitality companies.
- Successfully represented employers before state administrative boards, the EEOC and the United States Department of Labor on issues involving sex discrimination, race, national origin, and age-related cases.
- Argued cases before state Supreme Courts, United States First Circuit Court of Appeals, and appeared by Writ of Certiorari before the United States Supreme Court.
- Member of Federal Courts of Maine and Massachusetts, District of Columbia, Colorado, and has appeared as trial counsel pro hac vice in several state and federal courts.
- Obtained successful results for clients in mediation and alternative dispute resolution forums. Successfully defended individuals in defamation cases.
- Authored articles in national publications and has lectured on issues of litigation and employment law.

- Obtained successful result in a severe personal injury and products liability case for a nationally rated motocross motorcycle racer.
